Make a real difference through hands-on conservation work
Minimum 3 patrols per week • Duration: ~3 hours (varies by turtle activity)
Walk along the beach at night to observe nesting turtles. Collect data and carefully relocate eggs to the hatchery for protection. Patrols are 6km long (11km round trip), so physical and mental preparation is essential.
Minimum 2 watches per week • Duration: 6 hours per shift
Monitor nests for hatching baby turtles and protect them from predators like raccoons. This crucial duty ensures the safety of vulnerable hatchlings.
1 reforestation + 1 beach cleaning per week • Duration: ~1.5 hours each
Help restore local ecosystems through tree planting and maintain pristine beaches by removing debris and recyclables.
2 cleaning shifts per week
Individual duty (showers and bathrooms) and group duty (kitchen and common areas). Maintaining a clean, comfortable living space for everyone.
1 monitoring walk per week • Duration: ~1.5 hours
Walk near camp to observe and check on local sloth populations, ensuring their wellbeing and documenting any injuries or concerns.
1 kitchen shift per week
Assist with simple meal preparation tasks, helping to provide delicious vegetarian meals for the volunteer community.
Off-season project • February to May (non-spawning season)
Participate in constructing and maintaining hatchery infrastructure to prepare for the next turtle nesting season.
